What size mattress do I need?

This is obviously a personal choice but these are the UK standard sizes for mattresses:

Small single: 75cm x 190cm - 1 person

Single: 90cm x 190cm - 1 person

Small double: 120cm x 190cm - 1 person

Double: 135cm x 190cm  - 2 people

Kingsize: 150cm x 200cm - 2 people

Super kingsize: 180cm x 200cm- 2 people

Do you assemble beds and take the old one away?

We do offer an assembly service for beds we are delivering through our own service and not a 3rd party courier.  The charge is £55.  We will assemble the bed, take all the rubbish away, leaving you with your shiny new bed to enjoy.

We also offer a disposal service. All mattresses can no longer go to landfill and now have to be recycled.  The charge for this £40 for a single base or mattress and £55 for any other size.

If you want the base & mattress disposed of the price is £60 for a single. £70 for all other sizes.

Does my bed or mattress come with any guarantees ?

For your peace of mind, all of our products come with a guarantee, some have a guarantee and an additional warranty period. The length of the guarantee varies from 1 year to 20 years depending on the manufacturer.

My mattress has developed dips, is this normal?

Many modern-day mattresses contain generous amounts of luxury upholstery fillings. These sumptuous layers will naturally tend to ‘settle’ and compact, and will be more noticeable in the areas supporting your body weight.

This is quite normal and should not cause concern. However, we do recommend that you follow your manufacturer’s care guide closely (usually involving turning your mattress regularly) to minimise this.

Do you offer special sizes?

We can get a variety of beds and mattresses in bespoke sizes, please call our sales team on 020 8399 3293 to dicuss your options.

What mattress is best for a bad back?

Lots of people believe a firm mattress is necessary and best for a bad back. What you really need is a supportive mattress, one that gives in all the right places to support the natural curvature of your spine and doesn't cause pressure points on your hips and shoulders.

You can then look at different features and tensions to find the best level of comfort and support for you. Our bed experts are happy to discuss your specific needs on 020 8399 3293 or please email them at sales@bed-post.co.uk

How often should I turn my mattress?

If you have a purchased a double sided turnable mattress, we reccomend you follow this guide when you have mattress delivered.

Week 1: Start with the label on the top side of the mattress at the foot end.

Week 2: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now at the head of the mattress under your pillow.

Week 3: Turn the mattress over completely so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the pillow end.

Week 4: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the foot end.

Week 5: Return the mattress to the original starting position – with the label on the top side of the mattress at the foot end.

Week 6: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now at the head of the mattress, under your pillow.

Week 7: Turn the mattress over completely so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the pillow end.

Week 8: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the foot end.

Week 9: Return the mattress to the original starting position – with the label on the top side of the mattress at the foot end.

Week 10: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now at the head of the mattress, under your pillow.

Week 11: Turn the mattress over completely so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the pillow end.

Week 12: Spin the mattress 180 degrees so the label is now on the underside of the mattress at the foot end.

This will ensure even settlement  of the fillings. After this period we reccomend you turn and rotate as often as you can, maybe when you change the bedding.

For single sided mattresses, rotate through 180 degrees only.

Returns

Can I return or exchange an item?

We strongly recommend that before buying a bed or mattress, you try it out in a store to make sure you like it. Similar to breaking a pair of shoes in, all new beds have what we call a ‘bedding-in’ period. This is usually around 8 to 12 weeks and is the time it takes for the fillings in your mattress to settle. Also, a new mattress is always going to feel different to an older, worn one (which is a good thing!), so give it a chance to win you over. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on beds or mattresses that have been slept on for hygiene purposes.

** Goods will only be accepted for return if unused and in a re-saleable condition and in original packaging (Fully dis-assembled)Made to order items are an exception to the Distance Selling Regulations and will not be accepted as a return for a credit or exchange unless they are faulty or damaged upon arrival. ***

Unless the product is being returned due to a manufacturing fault or supplier error there will be a handling charge of £ 35 or 20% of the invoice value, whichever is the greater.

All returned goods will be inspected and we reserve the right to charge for incomplete returns, orders placed in error or not wanted prior to any credits being raised.
